Ladies and gentlemen, at long last, as a result of the diligent efforts of many, I would like to pass along a press release: MacMaster welcomes CT Scanner for Inverness November 29, 2013 For immediate release HALIFAX, NS - Inverness MLA Allan MacMaster says he is pleased that the new government recognized the importance of Inverness Memorial Consolidated Hospital having its own CT Scanner. “The communities of Inverness County worked hard to make this happen with petitions, marches and rallies. This was a real achievement for our area and will make a difference in the life of anyone suffering from stroke or acute injury,” said MacMaster. Dr. Pillai, Chief of Staff at ICMH stated, “This was an important piece of maintaining a healthcare system in a rural area. The governments approval will help to improve our patient care at ICMH, and aid in recruiting new doctors.” “I would like to thank everyone for supporting our efforts and helping to make this happen. I can’t believe it. I am so happy,” expressed John MacDonald, one of the organizers of the public appeals made to draw attention to the cause. Having a CT Scanner in Inverness signals a long-term future for maintaining services at the hospital. “We may not be a regional hospital but we have a great team of health professionals here in Inverness who can provide the majority of services to patients,” said MacMaster. “Im happy to have helped in the efforts to provide them with the equipment they need to do their jobs.” Twelve-year-old Erica Wright, who collected thousands of signatures with her friend Faith Welsh in support of the CT Scanner, says she was happy to be involved in such a great local initiative. “Because it was for a good cause, and even though I am still young, you can still get involved to help,” said Wright. Congratulations Erica, and everyone involved.. What great news
