Lafayette firefighters respond to the eighth vacant structure fire. At 1:59 this morning, Lafayette firefighters were called out to a structure fire in the 300 block of North Pierce Street. Upon arrival, the fire was coming from the rear of the vacant dwelling. Firefighters brought the fire under control within fifteen minutes. The dwelling sustained heavy fire damage. There were no injuries reported. Fire investigators determined that the fire originated on the exterior. The cause of the fire was intentional. Fire investigators are asking anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 232-TIPS.
