Lagos PDP gov primary: Journalists, police exchange words Journalists and police officers deployed to the venue of the Lagos Peoples Democratic Party primary holding at Oregun are having a heated argument over a rude comment by a police officer. An unidentified police officer, referring to the reporters, had said,”Let us clear away these people from here.” The journalists who had been kept waiting for hours blasted the police over the comments. The reporters who were supposed to have been cleared to enter the venue between 9-11 am are still waiting outside as of press time (12.09pm). The intervention of the PDP Publicity Secretary Gani Taofik calmed the tension. Taofik said voting would commence by 2pm. Delegates are still waiting to be accredited. A train of patrol vehicles packed by the road side caused a mild gridlock at the Oregun road as party supporters besieged the area. More details later…
