Laity Banquet - Must Pre-register! The annual laity banquet will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Frazer UMC beginning at 5pm CST. You must pre-register by clicking here: https://awf-reg.brtapp/2014AnnualConferenceOrdersandPurchases. The cost is $12 per person. The menu is chicken/with sauce, brown rice, mix vegetables, green salad, cheese cake with topping, and rolls. Kim Hendrix will be the guest speaker. Kim Hendrix is someone who shares the word of God through writing, speaking, radio and TV. She served as the anchorwoman at WSFA News 12 in Montgomery before becoming the Director of Development at St. James School. Just this week, Kim came on staff at Frazer UMC as Director of Media Ministries. In this position she will oversee creating new programming for WFRZ, while coordinating the many different avenues of communicating God’s Word - through print, social websites and broadcasting. Community involvement is something Kim believes in and stays busy with as well. More than 10 years ago, Kim developed the Shine Your Light Ministry at Frazer, a praise and worship service for women that often traveled around the state bringing special nights of praise to churches of all denominations. She also served as a lay member on the Board of Ordained Ministry for several years; as chair of “Women of Influence” through her work with the Board of Magic Moments; is active on the Board of Montgomery County Distinguished Young Women and has served as a spokesperson for HBDA-Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders of Alabama. Kim’s desire is to stay surrendered to our loving Savior and prays the strongest “channel” of sharing God’s Word and his love is our daily walk with Him. She is married to Scott Skoneki and has one daughter, Annie. Musical entertainment will be Harvest Blend. During the spring of 2012, five guys came together from within the Harvest Church choir to sing some southern gospel songs that their worship director had selected for them to sample. From Dothan Alabama, Cleveland Pope (bass), Michael Wilson, (tenor), Terry Lavin (tenor), Nate Brown, (baritone) and Rick Brackins (baritone) together form the melodious Harvest Blend. The group released their first CD project, titled Hymns & Harmonies, on June 30, 2013. Lush in harmonic texture and orchestration, this album keeps the songs of old fresh and will remind you of the days of the all-night singings to dinner on the ground.
