Water Temperature – 72-76 Water Clarity – south lake clear, mid lake clear, upper river channel off color, clear in Harmon, Bethy and White Rock creeks. FISHING FORECAST; Unseasonably cold weather has put the lock jaw on fishing. High pressure and sudden drop in ambient air and water temperatures has slowed fishing overall. Look for a return of south wind and a warming trend through the month of December for good fishing. The good news is the cooler weather may begin to move Crappie into a winter bite earlier than normal. Lake Livingston consist of over 90.000 acres of water and 450 miles of shore line. SPECIES REPORT: Black Bass {largemouth} – Fish up to five lbs.on medium diving crank baits worked off main lake rocky points and rip rap. Fish Charlies Flippin Bug around mid and lower lake boat houses. Several good fish were taken on guide trips recently out of Bethy Creek Resort on crank baits fished around rocky points and Charlies Large Crawfish, neon black red flake rigged on Charlies shakey head flipped around wood in the cut banks. Catfish – Fish fresh cut shad drifted across 14 flats and the old river channel. Fish fresh shad and chicken liver around the old 190 bridges. Good Blues in the river at Riverside recently. Good fishing Carolina and Bethy creeks continue to produce good numbers of Blue Cats on jug lines. Blue Cats good in Harmon creek fishing shad under a popping cork in the bird roost. Some big Ops have been coming in take off trot lines baited with live perch in the river channel near Riverside. Crappie – Over all has been disapointing, however some scattered nice fish have been caught. Mostly short fish taken from brush tops and lay downs in the creeks on jigs and minnows. White Bass – Some good White Bass coming out of Harmon Creek recently. The best bite has been on jigs fished in the brush. Striper- Occasional Striper coming out of the River channel at Riverside on fresh cut shad. Duck Hunting- Fair with good numbers of Teal and Wood Ducks on most straps. Scaterd reports of Gadwall and Mallards.
