Nardone (1202 Lucerne Avenue, Modern Building) • Visual artists in Lake Worth focusing on journalistic, real-life film and photography as well as art installations Yury Darashkevich (1204 Lucerne Avenue, Floridian Building) • Open exhibit yurydarash In 2010 the Lake Worth CRA was awarded the Neighborhood Stabilization grant through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to purchase abandoned and foreclosed properties within the CRA boundaries. The final phase of this 3 year affordable housing project was the construction of 12, brand new, two story live/work lofts in the heart of the redevelopment area, better known as the Urban Arts Lofts (UAL). These award winning Urban Arts Lofts were designed for working artists to have a creative studio space on the ground floor and living spaces on the second story. LULA’s mission strives to unify the existing arts community around a shared vision, implement goals for strengthening the property value infrastructure, improve access to the arts through educational programs, and invest in partnerships that support the talent and the creative community in Lake Worth. This program helps to provide necessary cultural resources to help strengthen community identity, build community and encouraging people to stay in the neighborhood. As of October 2013 it includes 4 art districts, Boynton Beach (Art Al Fresco / BBAD) Lake Worth (LULA) / West Palm Beach (CONTINUUM) and Northwood Village (Art Walk). These 4 locations will feature works by artists from all over Palm Beach County during the week of Art Palm Beach (January 23-27, 2014).ART Synergy’s future goals include events that will happen periodically throughout the year, the addition of more participating art districts, and initiatives that help unify the many diverse art entities, and talented artists that Palm Beach County has to offer.
