= > Lal Ded Hospital On Fire, Panic In Srinagar Srinagar, Nov 5: Authorities evacuated hundreds of female patients as Kashmir’s lone obstetrics and gynecology hospital, the Lala Ded Hospital caught fire this evening. Critical patients were shifted to other major hospitals. This reporter witnessed patients literally fleeing from the hospital, some with new born babies and so many with women who were operated upon. There were scores if ambulances rushing the patients to other hospitals. Officials from the fire services told this reporter that the fire started from the waiting room in the out patients department. Within minutes, it became a major conflagration with flames leaping towards skies. Fire services peoples evacuated the patients and controlling the fire. It was after half an hour that the fire was controlled. Officials told KL at around 9 pm that they will do the necessary scan of the wards and then let the patients return. There was nobody from the hospital administration immediately available to offer the details about how the old hospital structure was destroyed.
