Lalu Yadav, Mulayam Yadav et al are on top of the socio-political hierarchy. They are powerful people capable of influencing a huge section of society. Thus, the caste they were born in should become secondary. It is, therefore, unfortunate and regressive that they arranged for a marriage within their caste. Since its an arranged marriage where the partners did not fall in love without caste consideration, the patriarchs should have led society by the example of an arranged inter-caste marriage.
