Lamar Advertising COMPANY 249A - NORTHWEST INDIANA-CHICAGO CHICAGO, ILLINOIS LEASE REPRESENTATIVE Posted 6/3/2014 FULL-TIME POSITION DESCRIPTION The purpose of the Lease Coordinator III is to maintain and develop the company’s lease portfolio. • Responsible for working with regulatory authorities for permits for the structures. This includes obtaining permits for new builds, dismantles, maintenance, and vegetation work. • Actively review and monitor lease reports and payments for accuracy. This includes reviewing and monitoring the projected lease payments, outstanding lease checks, and actual lease payments. This also includes ensuring that the lease payments are accurate, based on the lease agreements. • Ensure the lease department remains within the monthly/yearly budget. • Maintain the current leases and look for new lease opportunities. This includes negotiating with lessors, renewing leases before they expire, attempting to transfer well-performing leases into easements, and conducting abstracts of well-performing areas to scout potential lease locations. • Stay abreast of city/state council meetings in order to monitor the zoning, permitting, inspections, regulations, and ordinances that affect Lamar in the area. Maintain professional relationships with personnel that affect these areas. REQUIRED SKILLS • Skill in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence. • Working knowledge of related outside governmental agencies, their services, roles, and responsibilities to contact them appropriately to obtain needed information. • Ability to speak on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and negotiate with lessors. • Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. • Skill in computing payments, percentages, increases and decreases in order to ensure the correct amount is being paid to lessors. • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, both internally and externally. • Working knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to operate within a set yearly budget. • Ability to handle confidential information and situations. • Ability to red and comprehend legal documents. • 2-3 years of previous experience in real estate or business is required. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • A high school diploma is required. • A driver’s license is required. • A bachelor’s degree, preferrably in business, real estate, or civil engineering. • 2-3 years of previous experience in real estate or business is required. WORKING CONDITIONS • The primary work environment for this position is an office. Some day time travel is required. • The physical requirements for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting more than 50% of the time, standing, talking, turning, and walking. • Nights spent away from home are less than 10%.
