Land acquisition Vs Land distribution in Odisha Our government is busy with enact and amendment of Land acquisition bill but there is no interest in land distribution related works. In our state Odisha, government is going to high court, Supreme Court in favor of capitalist for land acquisition but having zero interest in land distribution to tribal people and needy people in rural and even urban area. Socking news is that right now government is unable to distribute land to government school and hospitals in Odisha. Lots of schools are waiting for its own building. Students are continuing their study under trees, under tent and inside private houses in various areas. In recent case, land acquisition in Jagatsingh pur for POSCO and acquisition in Niyama giri for VEDANTA are going on. Ministry, Administration, Rapid Action Force, state police are involved for land acquisition and they force people to leave the place. District collector and SP are present there to drag this faster. So development work in District is going on a slower pace; corruption is happening in a rapid pace and all officers are involved in departmental inquire after corruption. Recent news is that two women had done suicide due to not getting any medical facility. Here Still lots of widow are waiting for widow pension; some of them are also died waiting to get and some of them are also going to die. Some poor and needy people are still waiting for old age pension, BPL card and IAY home; that you must have seen through OTV “NEWS FUSE”. Nodal officers for land acquisition but no nodal officers for land distribution. After 65 years of Indian independence; Land is not distributed among all people. Tribal are facing lots of problem due to both land acquisition and Land distribution. Not yet land is distributed to all tribal people; hence no permanent residence is owned by most of the tribal people. Land acquisition related news is telecast-ed daily in various TV channels. You can read from print media but there is no special plan for land distribution. No breaking news in media.
