Lansing City Clerks Office To Be Open Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 for Absentee Voting As part of an effort to make voting as easy as possible, City Clerk Chris Swope announces that City of Lansing voters may vote an absentee ballot in person on Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Washington Office Complex, 2500 S. Washington, Lansing 48910. Enter at the rear building entrance The Clerks Office in both Lansing City Hall and the South Washington Office Complex will also be open for Absentee Voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Absent voter ballots issued after 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 cannot be taken out of the Clerks Office. Absent voter ballots may not be issued after 4 p.m. on Monday, November 4. You may request an absent voters ballot for any of the following reasons: 1. Being 60 years of age or older, 2. Physically unable to attend the polls without assistance of another, 3. Is an appointed precinct worker in a precinct other than the precinct where the voter lives, 4. Expects to be absent from the community in which the voter is registered for the entire time the polls are open on Election Day, 5. Cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of the voters religion, 6. Cannot attend the polls because the voter is confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial. I want to give Lansing residents every opportunity possible to cast their ballot, said Chris Swope, Lansing City Clerk. Thats why were pleased to offer in-person absentee voting for Lansing residents. Clerks Office locations in both Lansing City Hall and the South Washington Office Complex will also be open for Absentee Voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
