Laporta: No Mourinho talks Jose Mourinho: Has spent time with Barcelona and Real Madrid Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta insists he has no plan to move for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho if he is re-elected at the Nou Camp. Laporta, who spent seven years at the Barca helm between 2003 and 2010, will be eligible for re-election in 2016. He has confirmed his intention to stand against Sandro Rosell after criticising the current regime in Catalunya. Were he to return to power, he would be expected to make high-profile moves on and off the field. It has been suggested that former Barca coach Mourinho is a man he would like to bring back to the club. Those rumours have intensified on the back of a meeting between Laporta and super-agent Jorge Mendes – the man who looks after Mourinho’s interests. A man who oversaw a glittering era in Barca’s history under the guidance of Frank Rijkaard and Pep Guardiola has, however, sought to play down reports claiming that an approach for the ex-Real Madrid manager was among the topics covered during talks. Laporta told L’Esportiu: My style of coaching is with the [Johan] Cruyff philosophy. Mourinho is a great professional and I respect him, but I did not mention him with Jorge Mendes, a person with whom I have a good friendship for many years. From time to time, we talk about things.
