Large scale evidence of electoral fraud Ankara shows that the AKP victory in local elections was not as big as it seemed and that analysis that assume the votes counted are the same as the votes counted is at fault. Ankara was won by the CHP not the AKP, the Istanbul result was at the very least closer than it seems. If the Ankara result is not reversed, we can all consider Turkey to be a Putinist dictatorship where the ruling party/family maintains some formalities of democracy, but will never allow the opposition to win an election and will never allow equal access to the public sphere or state institutions to those opposed to the regime. This time tomorrow it may time to say goodbye to Turkish democracy for at least one generation. Whatever you say about governments before AKP/Erdoğan, since 1950 they gave up power when public opinion went against them in the ballot box.
