Larry Colin This is part three. As promised I am going to write - TopicsExpress

Larry Colin This is part three. As promised I am going to write bit by bit about Christians. Part two. Hope I do not stomp on your toes but my intent is to be truthful. First are you a christian? If so then in and of that fact it is good. But is it truly a fact? Today we are looking at taxes. As a conservative your stance is pay less taxes. Especially if you are very rich. Here are some facts. We as a society demand services from our government. What happens if we do not regulate industry? How about meat that is not inspected and we get sick from it. Have you heard of MAD COW? How about our chickens? Is there not a disease from chickens that the rest of the world is worried about? How does non regulation work for fertilizer plants? Ask West, Texas. How would you like to work in a plant that is unsafe and when you get hurt, too bad, so sad? How would you like to still be working 12 hours a day for 7 days a week and only for $1 an hour as it was in the early 20th century? How would you like to go to the gas station in your unsafe car and purchase some gas that was watered down? How would you like to continue driving across bridges that just fold as some have already done? How would you like to attain retirement and not have your Social Security as was the case in early 20th century and that would make you live in poverty, not like today? Sad picture that the conservatives are wanting to put us into. So now let us look at what Jesus said. I do believe he said pay unto Ceaser what is Ceasers and pay unto god what is gods, die he not? So what was Ceasers? That was the taxes he demanded to pay for the albeit small amount of government services. That did include some jobs. It costs money to provide services. We are told by Jesus to pay those taxes. So how can you advocate the exact opposite of what the leader of your church tells you and still be a true christian? You make the call and suffer the consequences when you die and are judged by Jesus. Not I. You see to be a conservative is your true actions and to be a christian is a bunch of words with no base in fact. They cannot exist together at the same time. Either you are and act accordingly or you are not. We can tell by your actions. Sorry for stepping on your toes but I am only pointing out the truth. Stay tuned for part 4.
