Larry the Minister Guy just downloaded and starting reading a study from the University of Texas that talks about relationship chemistry. Its not news that shared attitudes have long been assumed to foster positive feelings between people. For example, Heider (1946, 1958), suggested that if two people share a positive or a negative attitude about another person, then a psychological ‘‘balance’’ is established and that balance promotes friendship between those two people. However, as odd as it may sound, studies suggest that balance is more likely achieved and were more likely to nurture a deeper bond with another person based on shared dislikes about another person rather than our shared likes about that person. Hmmm....
