Last Day to Submit! Junior Investigator Poster Award for Psychosocial Pain Research – Don’t have to belong to the SIG to apply! (Deadline March 14th, 11:59 EST). If you know students/junior investigators attending the meeting of the American Pain Society in Tampa this year, consider encouraging them to apply for the Psychosocial Research SIG Junior Investigator Poster Award. You don’t have to be a member of the SIG to apply, but your research should be psychosocial in nature. The purpose of this award is to recognize and help develop junior investigators conducting psychosocial pain research. The Poster Award winner will receive a certificate in recognition of the accomplishment and will provide a brief (i.e., 10 minute) presentation of their research at the APS Psychosocial Research SIG meeting on Wednesday, April 30th from 2:30 – 4:30 PM. The winner and runner up will also have their work featured on the SIG listserv and other forums. Eligible candidates for this award include undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows presenting first-authored posters at the annual meeting of the American Pain Society. Self-nominations and nominations by faculty members or research mentors are acceptable. Candidates do not need to be a member of the SIG to be nominated. To be considered for the award, please email the poster abstract, abstract number, and nominee contact information to [email protected] by March 14th, 2014. Posters will be evaluated by a sub-committee of the SIG. The winner will be notified by April 1st, 2014. Please feel free to forward this email to your colleagues and students. Sincerely, Zina Trost and Adam Hirsh, Co-chairs, Psychosocial Research SIG
