"Last Hurrah for Sagittarius - Taken from Chatham Township All summer the night skies have been blanketed with heavy cloud cover. Especially so during the new moon phases when the stellar bands of the Milky Way are brightest and most photogenic. Last night, then, was like a miracle to astrophotographers like myself. It was a new moon as a very cold front came through making the skies as clear as I have ever seen them in this region. This shot is a panoramic of three images. two vertical and one horizontal to capture the height and breadth of our home galaxy stretching from the southern horizon up and over ones head to the edge of Cassiopeia in the north. I took it at about 3am after watching galactic center in Sagittarius set for what may be the last time I will see until next spring. A fond farewell and to all a good night!"
