Last Independence day in our institute during flag hosting event, i was supposed to pull the thread and let our national flag be free to waive in the wind then. I was looking into the number of eyes gazing at me. I heard a whisper from behind Chal be Sardar jaldi kar ab I got off stage , held the mike and called upon my batchmate Rohit on the Stage. Following Rohit Malhotra, i called upon Nagma Ansari to join me. Everyone was standing still trying to Guess what i was doing leaving the flag hosting in between. I then shouted Gomal George , can i have u on stage. Gomal and me were gud friends then. I asked three of them to come near the flag and make a circle. I raised up my arm to pull the thread and told three of them to hold my hand along. Now everyone knew what i was doing. In between that applause the national flag rose up high ! A Hindu, A Sikh , A Muslim and A Christian had done it together :) It was a proud moment for us. The message is very much clear. We may belong to different religions but we dont belong to a different nation. We are Indians first. United we stand, Divided we fall. Jai Hind ! #Avineet
