Last November, a family friend called me and was concerned about my mom. So, I brought her to Houston to visit for the holidays. After many doctors appointments, and much testing, she was diagnosed with moderate to severe Dementia. Last week, we moved her into an assisted living facility that is 10 minutes from my house. She was VERY resistant to the idea, but now that she is there, she seems to be enjoying it! Thank You to: My neighbor, Kristin Kassaw, for giving me advice getting started with doctors in Houston. My cousin Kaye Rehburg, for helping with moms trip to visit her sister in Denver, so we could get everything situated in Houston. My sister Jamie and her family, for helping with the move and helping set up Grandmas room. My friends, Traci Jerman Heineman, Tracy Schindler, Alison Mann West, and Mari Moss, who have helped by listening, giving advice, and just being there for me. And lastly, my husband and daughters for rearranging their lives so Grandma Gloria could stay with us for the past 7 months. I know it wasnt always easy, but I couldnt have done it without your help.
