Last Thursday a little old lady stopped me as I was walking along on my lunch break. Thinking she wanted directions, I was surprised when she remarked that my necklace had caught her eye, and asked where I had bought it. I told her England. She was disappointed as she had wanted to buy one like it to wear for a dance on Saturday night, so I asked if she would like to borrow it, and to drop it off at my work when she was finished. Her eyes lit up and she looked thrilled. I walked away smiling, thinking Id NEVER see my £3 Primark beads again (and a few people also thought the same!), but amazingly, today she was waiting for me at my work with my necklace and a bag of chocolate. She had come on Monday but I wasnt there so she came back today to thank me personally :) I may not necessarily lend my diamonds to total random strangers (who am I kidding, first Id need to buy some diamonds!), but apparently a simple favour made someones day, and my faith in humankind is now even stronger than a cheap plastic Primark necklace. [Ok now back to my usual sarcastic Facebook updates!]
