Last, but certainly not least (in fact, quite the opposite), is our first-place winner in this years FootPRINT Fund! *drumroll please* The winner is, ACTS! Most of you know who ACTS is, but to those of you who arent familiar, they are Area Churches Together Serving. This organization took the #1 spot for so many reasons, but the main reason is their continued support for the needy in Aiken through food, clothing, education, and prayer. Not only do they help those in need, but they take the time to learn what their root problem is and educate them on how to make real changes in their lives. They do this through a strict interview process and dozens of generous and trained volunteers. ACTS plans to use their $1000 award to update and print their very outdated brochure. These brochure are used to help recruit volunteers and secure funding to better serve clients. Without volunteers and funding, nothing they do could be possible! While all of the non-profit organizations who applied are extremely important to our community, the committee we assembled couldnt think of a more deserving organization to take the #1 spot this year.
