Last day in Hinchinbrook and WOW what an experience. Brett kicked off the day with his first Barra on Fly. Not long after he picked up his first blue salmon on fly. We headed to the sand flats and what a massive learning curve that was. Casting at moving targets was a challenge. I blew it on a few good schools of fish at the start but after a few tips from Clint Isaac I was onto the fish. My first was a GT which just took off and stripped line off the reel. The adrenalin was definitely pumping. I then hooked up with a nice Queenie which darted around and did a few cartwheels in the air. I was on a roll now and managed to hook up on a few more GTs. Brett was up after this and also hooked into some solid GTs on fly. We also had 2 double hook ups today on GTs. What an epic end to an amazing trip to Hinchinbrook. I have taken away with me so much more knowledge about fishing. Thanks to the guys at Australian Flyfishing Outfitters for a great week on the fly.
