WDI Lifestyle tour has been cancelled with plans to reschedule for a spring date. Participation is encouraged. 7:22 - New Business Rich Leder with the Brooklyn Arts Center will be hosting a Toys for Tots program and BADCO has been invited to sponsor by way of promotion and networking. More information to follow as the program comes together. Paul Lawler of Residents of Old Wilmington would like endorsement of a walking loop in the Historic District. Interest was shown for a similar route in the Brooklyn Arts District. It was recommended he be invited to speak at a future meeting. A Historical marker was placed for Abraham Galloway, former slave and freedom fighter. Residents are asked to explore the history of the neighborhood and recommend other locations for markers. N.C.D.O.T. has been given permission to demolish old buildings between 3rd and 4th streets and Hanover and Red Cross WDI expressed interest in a special service district study to be conducted, which may include part of the Brooklyn Arts District. Early planning stages and more information to follow. Replacement banners were presented by J.C. Print with approval from the group. Currently awaiting permission from the city to replace the old banners and add new banners in select locations. Upon approval a licensed contractor will place. Canape will be hosting a holiday party and has invited all residents and businesses to participate. If anyone would like to donate door prizes, etc. they are encouraged to contact Canape and proceeds will go toward future BADCO projects (pending approval of bylaws.) Bylaws given to members for revision/approval with the addition of and indemnity clause. Plan to vote on bylaws at next meeting and form a plan to elect a board of directors if approved. 7:35 – John Barham and Cynthia Roush with code enforcement addressed the group Handed out informational brochures. Addressed specific questions for individuals. Encouraged the group to call with specific complaints or questions and they can forward those issues to the city and state. Interest was shown to prioritize issues for efficiency 7:58 – Beth Nunnally with City Solid Waste Services Focuses on information and education District will host a pilot program campaign to address the issue of pet waste featureing ground level campaign signs encouraging owners to clean up after pets and informing them of fines involved with negligence 8:18 – next meeting scheduled for 7:00PM Monday, January 13th at the Brooklyn Arts Center
