Last month, Bill Jones, MD of RICS ASEAN World Region, attended the SIM - RMIT University Degree Conferment & Awards Ceremony at SIM University, Singapore. Bill has been on the Programme Advisory Panel for this degree course since 2012, and has recently accredited this RMIT degree for Singapore delivery. To celebrate the accreditation, the RICS Medal was awarded to the 2nd highest students (Ng, Hong Soon and Gan, Shi Yong Jay) who achieved outstanding academic performance in the part-time Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) programme. Bill is pictured with both students as well as Connie Chow, Head RMIT Programmes, Professor Ron Wakefield of RMIT and Mary Lee SIM global Director. “The high level of construction activity in Singapore now and in recent years has created massive skill shortages,” said Bill. “By accrediting this degree, RICS is doing its bit to support the drive to meet the skills gap with students who understand the need for high construction standards.”
