Last night I attended the ceremony recognizing the graduation from my apprenticeship. I was honored to receive the Apprentice of the Year award. I joined Local 195 of the Painters union (IUPAT) in May of 2009 and became a Journeyman in 2013 in one of the worst economies for construction in several decades. With up to 50 percent unemployment it hasnt always been easy but its been the best decision ive made in my life. I look forward to continuing to work hard to make my union strong, to help it grow, to make the labor movement stronger , to help it grow . To fight for the rights of all people in a struggle for a more free and equal world. Until we win.....
