On Sunday, we did a training session with Stella, who needs to travel to Cornell and see an eye specialist there, asap. She has a very painful recurring eye issue and may lose her eye. We know that Stella was a professional jumper in her day and should trailer, but she is also hot and we were told, crazy. So we did a practice run. Overall, it went well; she did go up a few times, she knows trailers and was not keen on the idea. The funniest part was when she was with her head just inside and I could see her measuring the width...Stella is LARGE....and glancing back at her own self...and turning to me with this look; SERIOUSLY? she seemed to say....I will not fit!! The first trailer we have been using, purchased several years ago, is beautiful and has served us well, but it cannot handle what we now have. We have found a wonderful, safe and spacious new rig, with rear and side ramps, to move larger horses, or horses in casts...A rig we can have for two decades.
