Last night I dreamed of Amy Crews. There was a giant gulf of choppy waters. I was on one shore, and she was on the other. We were calling to each other to be together. She dove fearlessly into the water, and swam to me. We hugged and sat on the beach. She was exhausted and soaked, dripping. We were both so happy to be together. We reminisced every memory we could think of. The water calmed, she kissed my cheek, and she swam back to the other side. She turned and waved to me and disappeared. I woke immediately. I knew she had been with me. I could feel it. I was disoriented. Happy and sad. I never went back to sleep. I felt restless. Like something just wasnt right, was incomplete and kind of not normal all morning. Then, when I went down and got on the elliptical...turned on the music...and started working out, the first song that came on was Dean Martin, Return To Me. This is significant. When Amy had her first transplant and was discharged from the hospital, we found the movie, Return To Me about a girl who had a heart transplant. We probably watched it 50 times while she was recovering in St. Louis and many times since. We bought the Dean Martin CD with the song and listened to it often up until she went to heaven. The movie and song were always meaningful to us. The song is in both of our iTunes playlists. That being said, that song has not played while I work out since I came home from Durham last November. She and God were telling me she returned to me last night. You can NEVER convince me that God, who is loving and giving AND supernatural such that He created the world from nothing and was born of a virgin and died for our sins so that Amy is still alive, that He cannot and does not lift the heavenly veil and gift us with these miracle visits from time to time. Thank you, God, I love you. I love you, Amy. I enjoyed our dream time together. I still feel strange.
