Last night I visited a multi-dog household where one of the dogs was beginning to display aggression to visitors to the home. The owners had already had a trainer in (& I use that term in the loosest sense of the word) thankfully they were unhappy about what they were told to do, namely grab, bully and push the dog around CM style and contacted me on recommendation. The dog in question is a 6mth old DDB and thankfully I was able to help the owners before the advice of the other trainer done any damage. What they had was a puppy trying to get more of the attention but because of the violent handling instructions they had been given, pretty soon they would have had a dog that was aggressive through fear and confusion. Visitors to the home always brings lots of excitement for young dogs, add to that other dogs in the home and a pup will try every trick in the book to get more of that attention and it usually involves their teeth and trying to get hold of the person. They are not necessarily biting but teeth is not a good thing, especially in a dog as big as a Bordeaux.
