Last night, I watched (well, tried to watch) The Protector 2. Many things excited me about this movie. The main thing being Tony Jaa. In his last movies (Ong Bak, The Protector), he gained fame for his no wire stunts, balls to the wall action, and insane control of his own body. These movies and Tony Jaas stunts thrilled and amazed me, and changed my idea of what a good action movie is forever. I was also excited because The RZA from Wu Tang is in The Protector 2. Then I watched it. Wire stunts, green screens, CGI and cheesy gimmicks for what I assume was 3D effect. All the things that made Tony Jaas films great in the past have been throw to the wayside for a more Hollywood type style of action movie. It was disappointing to say the very least.
