Stores can only keep an item on their shelves for a short time before it goes bad. Organic food goes bad faster because it has no preservatives or chemicals in it. Therefore the store has to throw out what is not sold. The price of that loss of product is factored into what that item costs. We buy more...they throw away less.... price comes down.....
