Last night as I left Union Square, I headed to Downtown Brooklyn with my cam hoping to get some footage of the uprisings. As I got out of the car, I saw a homeless family of 4 lying on the ground covered with thin sheets and blankets. It was brick cold out. Not only at 0 Celsius, but windy. Put a lot into immediate perspective. I handed them $40 but knew that money wont go far considering their needs and circumstance but prayed that it at least plants a seed. Meanwhile, just several hundred feet away, there were myriad news teams, police directing traffic and barricades of people gathered in droves, trying to get a peek at Beyonce, Jayz and members of The Royal Family coming out of a game at the Barclay Center. I couldnt help thinking about how much I am thankful for....and the many blessings we take for granted. I never got those pictures. But I certainly gained some perspective.
