Last night at the University of Richmond, I attended a wonderful talk by historian Colin Jones on the history of the smile. It was fascinating to learn, that the smile really does have a history. At one point, he showed pages from the year books of Westhampton College. Women began smiling in yearbook pictures around 1932, not before! It was fun to be in the audience and look up and see faces from the class of 81! Priceless: I love history at U of R. The last picture is me at Ryland Hall where the History Department is! This is where I began my career in history. Shout out to all my U of R friends and all my Westhampton home girls!
