Last night for the second time in my life i visited Saturday Night market at Arpora. After about 15 years. First time when i was there it was a nice experience. Remember spotting Remo in a Venetian Mask and chatting with Suboth Kerkar. This time too spotted several old friends. But also noticed so many things have changed. biggest change is crowd. Its too much. However one thing has not changed. Last night i had an Eureka moment. They say everything in world changes and there is no Universal Constant. Last night i found that Universal Constant. everything in the world changes but one thing remains constant. That is Stupidity of Goa Govt. No matter who is/was/will be CM or PM. Tourism Industry is Xitt Kodi of Goa but when it comes to tourism infrastructure its non existent in the coastal belt. Satya ka Gyan to any tourist who come to Goa any time chanting Goa Goa is that Goa is one long night of traffic jam on a dangerous serpentine road. As far as North Goa is concerned i still wonder no matter who is CM of Goa how the Goa Govt, never realizes that North Goa tourist belt is a long road which starts at the mouth of river at Keri Terekhol, it comes down form Palyem to Arambol, from Mandrem it enters Morgim, from morgim via siolim bridge it reaches Siolim Church, from siolim church it goes straight to Arpora/baga than to Calangute/Kandolim/Verem. From Verem it follows Mandovi river and meets NH 17 at Betim. No Govt has applied its mind to improve this road. If this was any other country in the world we would have a single 4 lane road with proper supporting infrastructure. But this is Goa. So nothing will ever happen. Tourist will come to goa, they will continue to be stuck in traffic jam increasingly becoming worse as time passes, many will die in road accidents and life will go on. A person who gives vehicles on rent to tourist before the beginning of the tourist season makes his vehicle ready. A hotel owner makes his hotel ready for the season. But the great Goa Govt will never make Goa ready for the season.
