Last night in Asean Business Report Program, my co-anchor and I interviewed CEO of Myanmar Research Firm Thura Swiss on the early deadline of the implementation of Stock Exchange Market in Myanmar. Myanmar Research Firm Thura Swiss sees the move up of the deadline for Yangon Stock Exchange from 2015 to the end of this year as a gradual beginning for the country but not an immediate start. He admits that the legislation, technical infrastructure and human resources are not yet ready to support the set up of the stock exchange. However, he also thinks this could be an opportunity for Myanmar to actually begin preparation. "There are no brokers, no market makers, no security, the banks, settlement system yet. This is a good way, however, to train people, do demonstration," the CEO who earned a doctoral degree in Banking from Switzerland added.
