Last night in work I witnessed something that would possibly restore anyones faith in humanity. A young couple came in (in their mid/late 20s) with their daughter, they were being served by another employee and I was counting scratchcards. During the transaction the daughter pointed to the charity box at the till and asked her daddy whats that for? to which she got the reply its to collect money for the poor people. The wee girl then goes ohh......can I put my pocket money in it to help them we all froze for a minute and then her mammy said The money you got for doing a few wee chores? Of course you can. The wee girl then took out a wee money bag and put ALL of her money into the charity box, coin by coin with a big smile on her face. My heart had melted at this stage and I was speechless. The employee serving them asked the wee girl what age are you? she replied with a bug smile Im 7 and the employee followed with youre only 7 and youre doing that, youre such a good wee girl. At this point I just wanted to grab the wee girl and hug her, she has won at life and shes only SEVEN. Thats parenting done right and one of the best things Ive EVER witnessed.
