Last night my dog was sniffing a mouse, the same one I tried to let be so he could make it to spring and I could release him/her. I dont know if the cat got to it first or one of our dogs but I found the little fellow and he was still alive. I put him in a box with some soft cloth and a cracker and peanut butter and a jar top lid with just a bit of water in it. I woke up today to check on him and he had died. :-( I tried this last year and that mouse didnt make it either. Is it the peanut butter killing them? He was a cute little fellow. I looked and he had died with peanut butter in his paws and on his whiskers, so clearly he had been eating for a bit.
