Last night, my little girl, Sabrina, got out after dinner. We have toms hanging around, and there was a terrible fight. I was slow to respond owing to my bad leg. Sabrina took off and failed to return. A sleepless night of calling for her and car patrols at first light failed to find her. I started ringing shelters and vets this arvo. Shed been brought in as a wounded stray to her actual vet. She wasnt chipped. I hadnt got around to it. On ringing them today, they matched her file photo to last nights stray.she was already en route to the shelter. I raced over to Cranbourne and collected the now chipped lady, and back to her vet to complete her treatment for wounds. The blood on her turned out to be her attackers, but she is limping and very sore from a bight. At the vets they are calling her a christmas miracle. An unchipped stray reunited with her mum in less than 24 hours. Since getting home, she hasnt stopped purring. I wish i could 1. Send a present to the ladies who caught her and took her to the vet. 2. Strangle the mongs that let un neutered toms roam. But if i could purr, after the last 20 hours, believe me, i would be.
