Last night on my drive home I was reminiscing about how great of a man you were. I keep trying to flood my mind with great memories because this week has been so hard for so many of us. There were so many amazing and wonderful things about you, but I think the best quality you held was your ability to make people feel welcome and happy. My mind kept drifting back to when I went through my divorce. My world had turned upside down and I was so lost, but you and Annie made me feel so loved and safe. I remember that Christmas when you welcomed me into your parents home. That night for the first time in a long time I felt so happy. You always made me feel like I was part of your family. You had this ability to make people feel safe and relaxed and most importantly happy. I cant tell you how special that made me feel. Even at the worst of times, you both knew how to bring me peace and comfort. Whether it was dinner at your house or just me hanging there for hours doing nothing, you always made me feel like I belonged. I will always be grateful for that. Even this week, amongst all the chaos, I have felt at peace and comforted being in your home. You were so special to me and you always will be and I will cherish so many memories we shared forever.
