Last night was a moment in my life that will forever burn in my heart with emotional intensity with the love and family values of our scene as we all came together to support something so personal to all of us. I cannot put into words the amount of pride I have for what we accomplished regardless if we had 90 people to 300 people to 10; we all played our hearts out for all of you with everything we had for one purpose as that was to Smash Cancer and to continue this tradition every year. When I opened up the show on spoke to every one of you the connection that we made or at least what I felt was overpowering and I meant every deep emotional word from my heart and soul. Throughout the whole night it was endless conversations with such beautiful and compassionate people who had a story or experience that they shared with me and I will remember every one of them. I was deeply moved by the overwhelming words of positivity, countless hugs and embraces, and kisses on my cheek from my brothers and sisters of our scene. Every one of you should be very proud of what took place and if you were apart of it or made a donation we all truly are blessed to have had your support. Later this week I will be writing a check too the American Cancer Society after we close the benefit page down and consolidate all the money we were able to raise to have this benefit and I will of course be taking a photo and posting it for all to see Bruce and his team humbling accepting it. I want to thank every band that supported this event first and foremost all of our bands that traveled great distances to be apart of this and brought so much energy to the benefit and that is SubZero, Brick By Brick, Vice, Live Fast Die Fast, and On The Offense; brothers much respect and love and to our local scene bands from Rochester, Utica, and Syracuse that played deep from their souls and that is My band Borrowed Time, The Weight We Carry, EgoDestroys, 40 Dead Men, The Storm, and GhostxShip. All of you played your hearts out and we will all remember this day and the ones to come. In closing we can all go and see and support big promoting shows, which of course support our scenes bands and help pay the bills but this benefit is so much more important than that. It’s not about what we put in our pockets but about what we had the chance to you affect and make change and last night on Sept 6th 2014 we started. From all of us at NYHC Smash Cancer thank you and see you at the next show or in the crowd or Pit. Respect
