Last night, we had CBN’s 3rd Annual Dinner. What an impressive, joy-filled evening for everyone who came! Thanks to our many sponsors and attendees, we raised $12,500 for Catholic education! New this year, the inaugural Catholic Business Leadership Award was presented to Medifast CEO, Michael MacDonald. The award recognizes Catholic professionals for their service and leadership for Archdiocesan programs and organizations. We congratulate Mr. MacDonald on his achievements. The evening’s keynote speaker was Raymond Arroyo, author, journalist, and EWTN lead anchor. He shared entertaining stories of Mother Angelica and the remarkable way she founded EWTN. Mother Angelica is a woman who dared to dream, to stand up for what she believed in, and whose faith showed that anything is possible. Her ‘theology of risk’ philosophy states that we are all called to be disciples and to bring the news of Jesus Christ to the world. Mother Angelica’s deep love of God is an example for us all. EWTN has become a voice for American conservative and traditional Catholics. EWTN is now available in over 150 million television households in more than 140 countries. Mr. Arroyo closed with a question and answer session for the group. He revealed the background on some of his more famous interviews. WMAR-TVs Jamie Costello gets a high-five for being a fun master of ceremonies, and for generously giving his time and talents.
