Last night we learned from Craig Barrett and Michael Block from the BASIS Schools that two of their schools, BASIS Tucson and BASIS Scottsdale, that were previously in the top 10 for The Washington Post’s America’s Most Challenging High Schools in previous years were moved to a list of top performing schools with elite students because their standards were so much higher than what the report had focused. When I worked in NYC in 1997, I had a chance to tour both Bronx Science and Stuyvesant -- two terrific public schools! Go BASIS! Thank you for putting AZ on the map!
