Last night we watched The Croods - a fitting end to our evening. You see, it is a movie all about how a family (especially the Dad) deals with BIG CHANGES. And 5 years ago yesterday, there was a big change when my little girl married her guy and they drove off to follow the light together. (Car pic included for cousin Joe). Thankfully, they didnt drive TOO far (except for that year in Texas). So, last night, while the happy couple enjoyed dinner and a walk on the beach, we enjoyed their offspring. Then they came back for family movie night and dessert by the Queen of the Kitchen. My favorite Grug moments from the movie: +++ Grug: You followed the light. My daughter is a lot like you. Guy: No. She’s like you. She loves you but always forgets to say it. Just like you forget to tell her. Grug: I guess I was just busy keeping them all alive. Guy: It’s okay. That’s what Dads do. +++ Grug: No more dark. No more hiding. No more caves. Whats the point of all this? To follow the light. I cant change. I dont have ideas. But I have my strength. And right now, thats all you need. +++ Grug: Time to go. Eep: No. I have too much to say to you. I need to fix everything and I don’t have time. Grug: I can fix it. Eep: This works good. What do you call it? Grug: I was thinking of calling it a Hug. And, yes, we do occasionally watch a non-animated movie. But when your audience ranges in age from 1 to 54, it takes a lot to make everyone happy. HAPPY? OH NO, Im thinking about THAT SONG...
