Last night we watched the Croods for Movie Night. I had only seen - TopicsExpress

Last night we watched the Croods for Movie Night. I had only seen the previews (from way back when) and knew Eep freaked out about new shoes. Had no idea the film had a great message! If you havent watched it, you should. Heres my summary though: The Crood family lived under the impression that new was bad and different was dangerous. They shut themselves up in a cave most of the time and were told stories that ended in and they died almost every night. Not the happily ever after life we tend to want. So easy to shake our heads and laugh at their ridiculous perspective, BUT so often we are doing the exact same thing today! We let fear control us. We miss out on opportunities because something is new or different or involves risk or whatever other excuse/reason we find not to step out and try something that isnt normal or typical or ordinary or safe. I loved the part when Eep was brutally honest with her dad Grug and told him straight out, We werent living. We were not dying. Theres a difference. I couldnt help but make some connections... Ever since starting It Works I feel like I am more willing to live by faith, to take risks, to go for it (in whatever area of life), to try new things, to meet new people, to speak my mind, to live boldly and passionately and courageously and purposefully. I get so discouraged and frustrated and disappointed and saddened when people are not willing to try something new or different because of fear. I ache for them because of the opportunities they are missing out on, because of the potential they are passing up, etc. I think of the verse in 2 Timothy, But God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-discipline. Im learning to trade my fear and worries and doubt and anxiety for courage and faith and power and love and peace and hope and joy. If you ask me, its a really good trade. If youre ready to make the trade, I would LOVE to talk with you. If you are ready to not die and start truly living, I would love to talk with you. If you realize you are MADE FOR MORE, I would love to talk with you. If you are done surviving and ready to THRIVE, I would LOVE to talk with you. 660.281.8266
