Last night, with Christmas music on the stereo, after all the hustle and bustle of the day, I sat by the Christmas tree and opened gifts from friends. When I opened the calendar (attached) from Bobby Spencer and Mickey Necroto, memories came flooding back as I paged from month to month and saw photos of Totem Pole Playhouse shows over the years. There they were. Friendships forged over the past nearly 30 years, too many to count. Curtis Houser hired as a 14 year old usher and now a grown man with two children. Patricia M Risser the finest costume designer now working and living in Austin. Peter Hanson, a Production Stage Manager on Broadway. Paul Mills Holmes Production Stage Manager at Actors Theatre in Louisville. Anthony Lane Hinkle with his own booming Certified Massage Therapy practice in Baltimore and with Steven Shriner as his partner. They met at Totem Pole all those many years ago. Paul DeBoy starring in Mama Mia. Jayne Houdyshell always appearing in one Broadway show or another. Francis Parkman with a very successful carpentry business in NYC (who fed me peeled grapes during Forum). Paul Malmont, David DeBoy, James Fouchard (who continues to design sets not only at Totem Pole but other fine theatres), Tim Pinckney, Terrence Sherman, Scott Blackshire, Dave Bundini Brown, Traci Lyn Thomas (married and with two children), Sherry Skinker, Shelley Joyce, Becca Castle, Ed Gotwalt, Rosemary Willhide, Missy Bumbaugh Walton(married and with two grown sons), Dim Sclichter, Shirleyann Kaladjian (married with one son), Chris Tickner. Bobby Dawson, Andrea Malmont, Lisa Bebey(married with one daughter), Jody Hair Brechbill (married with two children), Molly Lahr Schwarz( married with three boys), Jan Puffer, Greg Walker (an attorney in Germany), Richert Easley, Carl Schurr & Wil Love and so many faces whose names I no longer recall. And then there are those who no longer walk this earth or tread those Totem Pole boards...Doug Robinson, Judy Houser, and my Dad, Mickey Scubelek. Best of all on the back cover are photos of the designers of this memory lane, Bobby Spencer and Michael Necroto. What pleasure you have provided me on this Christmas night 2014....God Bless you and everyone.
