Last nights mtg to go over the proposed by-laws was very - TopicsExpress

Last nights mtg to go over the proposed by-laws was very productive and resulted in (what we hope) is a document that will be published in the next couple weeks and subsequently voted on by our members wishing to do so. More on that later. Near the end of the mtg, once our focus shifted away from the by-laws, the conversation got heated and quickly spiraled out of control. I have spoken to the manager/owner of Slacks this morning and issued an apology on behalf of the BCDGA and assured him that there would be no recurrence of last nights episode. I want to remind everyone that our mtgs are open to anyone and everyone and that attendees are free to voice their opinion. However, those people wishing to speak are expected to do so in a manner consistent with being in a family-friendly business establishment. Shouting over each other is not how we want to conduct ourselves. Profanity will absolutely not be tolerated at future mtgs. We need to adopt a zero tolerance policy about this. I propose that anyone in violation of this will be asked to leave and will be expected to do so without incident.
