Last nights tribute to Pete Seeger at the Nameless Coffeehouse was absolutely incredible, inspiring, soul-stirring! My own and many others tears of joy mixed with sadness for missing Pete flowed so easily. We were all vulnerable together. Im so thankful. The biggest thank you goes to the incredibly generous @Terry Kitchen for organizing the concert. Gracias from the bottom of our hearts! Such an honor and joy to sing alongside our super talented and beloved troubadour friend @Dean Stevens (thanks for asking Brian and me to sing with you!), as well as the inimitable Vance Gilbert, super-talented @Jon Svetkey, Jackie Damsky, the ever fabulous and inspiring @Joan@Joanne Hammil, and Chris Thompson, among others. And the always gracious and fun @Marily Rea Beyer was fabulous as M.C. of course! I will never forget singing We Shall Overcome , Old Devil Time, Where Have all the Flowers Gone, If I Had a Hammer and so many more songs, in addition to our cherished Guantanamera, with everyone singing along. Wow! My heart is still cracked open, in a very good way. Im sure the tribute raised a good chunk of cash for the The The Charles River Conservancy and it pleases Brian and me so much to know that. Were grateful to be part of the incredibly generous folk community of Boston.
