Last post about football for the season: Thanks, coach, for revealing yourself in todays game. The team had absolutely NO business to be in a position to win with under two minutes left and the ball ultimately on your opponents 1 yard line. So with two opportunities to punch it in, the brain trust of Pat Shurmur/Chip Kelly showed us the same philosophy we suffered through with 14 years of Andy Reid--and Marty Mornhinweg for a good part of that tenure: you decide to throw the ball. Your quarterback had one of the worst throwing games of his albeit short career, but you let him throw the freaking ball TWICE to gain the 36 inches needed to win the game. Your quarterback is 66 tall. Did it not occur to you or anyone else on your staff that he could FALL DOWN with the ball to win the freaking game? Have you ever heard of a Quarterback Sneak? I understand that your decimated offensive line was outplayed and manhandled the entire day, and you had zero to little success running the ball. But you could have tried it at least one time. To fail would have been understandable, but to not even attempt is inexcusable and unforgivable. So thanks, Gutless Chip Kelly. Now that its so early in the season, and I see that I can expect the same smarter than everyone else philosophy of throwing the ball when you need to run it, and running the ball when you need to throw it, I think Ill find something more constructive to do with my Sunday afternoons, or whenever else youre coaching. I dont bet, and Im not in any fantasy leagues, but Ive been a fan as long as I can remember. My dad used to take me to games at Franklin Field when I was 6 years old. I really, really enjoy watching Eagles football. But youve spoiled it for me this season by showing your true color: YELLOW.
