Last week 14 people were murdered in France. Their lives are lost - TopicsExpress

Last week 14 people were murdered in France. Their lives are lost and the lives of many family and friends changed forever. Last week in Northern Nigeria around 2000, yes 2000 people were murdered. Think of the aftershock for these people. It is reported that 20% of all people from one town/village were massacred. Imagine that! The Nigeria murders was reported on the inside pages of some newspapers but was not front page. We learned during the referendum that the news coverage in the UK isnt simply for our information. It is designed to shape our opinions and lead us to where those in control want us. The question is why did our media not report the deaths of so many in the same way as Paris? Murder is is murder regardless of the killer! Today the focus on Paris news coverage has moved to the Western Governments announcing they will crack down and get tough on terrorism by bringing new laws that will allow them to spy on us. Is it the right response to threaten our privacy in the name of freedom of speech? Maybe governments should look at why people wish to commit such acts and deal with that. Prevention is better than cure!
