Last week I made a new friend, in his early 70s, named Richard. I had been asked to send him a signed picture. Decided to visit him at Pres instead. He had just gone through a big surgery for colon cancer. We had a great talk, and then I prayed with him. His family contacted me the next day, to say they were thrilled at his improvement in attitude, and how he was suddenly interested in God again. His career was in heavy equipment, and we had made plans to ride out to see the Paseo del Norte project, once he was feeling better, so he could explain what was going on there. I just found out yesterday he passed away over the weekend. Wow. What a nice guy he was. Though I barely knew him, Im sad he is gone so soon. We are NEVER promised another day on this earth. Im encouraged to make more of an effort to reach out to others, while I still can. Hoping you are too.
