Last week I participated in a panel discussion held at the Iraqi Cultural Center - Washington, D.C. The other panelist was U.S. Army Brig. Gen. (ret) Mark Kimmitt and the moderator was Iraqi Army Brig. Gen. (ret) Ismael H. Alsodani. The discussion topic was The Army of Iraq Today: Mission and Challenges. I was able to go in-depth about my experiences leading troops in Iraq from 2003-2004 when the U.S. made the decision to help rebuild the Iraqi Army. Ive seen incredible heroism in my Iraqi brothers. Commanding troops in Iraq was one of the greatest privileges Ive had, and it was an honor to be a part of such an important discussion.
